Relief International-UK today signed a Letter of Agreement with the USAID funded Climate-Resilient Ecosystems & Livelihoods (CREL) project, implemented by Winrock, to collaborate for activities related to Community Based Tourism, which will include scaling up of Co-management Committees (CMCs) with the overall objective of protecting and conserving the Sundarbans mangrove forest and ecosystem. Through its EU funded project on Cultural Eco-tourism, RI-UK will involve the existing framework of the CMCs to build more coordination and leadership amongst the communities, building towards more sustainable operations. Nazrul Islam, Country Director, RI and Darrell Deppert, Chief of Party, CREL signed the LOA on behalf of their respective organizations.
